However, the designer’s encounter with methacrylate in 1949–50—a revolutionary polymer plastic that is significantly stronger and lighter than glass—inspired the creation of the groundbreaking Model 2065 suspension lamp. Over the years, the design was further refined, exploring different compositions, sizes, and color variations to suit diverse interior aesthetics.

Model 2065 features a distinctive diffuser crafted from two joined opalescent saucers, elegantly suspended from the ceiling by a sleek black-painted aluminum canopy. The elliptical form, combined with the lightweight methacrylate material, creates a captivating illusion of a floating luminaire. This subtle yet striking design element enhances any interior space with a modern, airy feel.
