Installation Details:

Visible Back Plate: The Alvia Alabaster Wall Light measures approximately 3.9 inches wide. Standard electrical junction boxes (J-boxes) in the US and Canada are typically 4 inches wide, meaning the fixture may not fully cover the J-box. To address this, a complimentary 12cm diameter back plate is included to conceal the J-box during installation. This is a practical design feature intended to ensure a clean, finished look, not a defect.

Optional Back Plate: For those seeking a minimalist aesthetic, the back plate can be omitted to achieve a clean, flush appearance as shown in product images. However, if the J-box is visible, the back plate offers a seamless solution by covering any exposed gaps.

Driver Placement: For dimmable versions, the thyristor dimming driver and DALI dimmable driver should be installed outside the canopy to optimize performance and prolong the fixture’s lifespan.

Additional Features:

Dimming Capability: To achieve optimal dimming performance with the dimmable Alvia model, it is recommended to use a Triac dimmer switch. Suitable dimmers can be easily found by searching for “Thyristor dimmer switch” on popular online platforms such as Amazon.
